Whether she’s lending a helping hand or generating buzz as a marketing maven, you can always count on Luisaura Alvarez to serve. She is the founder and CEO of LA Communications, a marketing and branding agency where she excels at bringing her clients’ visions to life in the digital space. She has more than a decade of experience in marketing and broadcasting. However, Luisaura’s talents go beyond her latest marketing campaigns.
As the current Regional Development Representative for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Luisaura helps with fundraising efforts in the Miami area to carry out the iconic organization’s mission of ensuring that no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay. In addition to raising funds for the hospital, Luisaura also volunteers at Camillus House, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, South Florida Food Bank, His House Children’s Home, and Ronald McDonald House. She also actively volunteers by helping senior citizens with Feeding South Florida. Luisaura’s primary focus, however, lies in providing mentorship to our youth.
Luisaura sits on the Board of Directors of the Junior Orange Bowl. She has a long history with the organization since earning the title of Miss Junior Orange Bowl USA 2014. Luisaura also served as Committee Chair for the Junior Orange Bowl Youth Ambassador , a program that empowers adolescent girls and encourages an attitude of service to the community. Presently, Luisaura serves as the secretary of the Junior Orange Bowl while also mentoring children for the Miami-based organization.
Miss Alvarez is a first-generation Dominican-American, who is fluent in both English and Spanish. Luisaura began her career in Boston as a marketing assistant at Copley Place, a Simon Property. In this role, she brought to life a number of fashion events including Copley Cares with the American Red Cross, Fashion’s Night Out, Fall Into Fashion and Step Into Spring with Smiling Stiletto. No stranger to the spotlight, Luisaura competed for Miss Massachusetts USA, Miss Florida USA, and ultimately, won the title of Miss Coral Gables United States 2016. She was also a co-host on the show Studio D, Miami Spill and made frequent red carpet appearances as a correspondent.
Luisaura served as a Big Sister of Boston, a volunteer coordinator for WaterFire Providence and a volunteer at the Rhode Island Food Bank. In addition, she participated in Relay for Life as well as multiple AIDS Walks and the Walk for HAWC (Healing Abuse Working for Change) to benefit victims of domestic abuse.
Luisaura received the Johnson & Wales University Leadership Award upon graduating with her degree in Marketing Communications. She was also a two-time first place winner of Johnson & Wales University’s National Student Organizations Regional Competition (in advertising and public relations campaigns). She was a member of the Collegiate Ambassador Team, and DECA (Delta Epsilon Chi).
Despite everything she has accomplished, Luisaura Alvarez continues to use her platform as a media personality to shine a light on youth mentorship. She uses her platform as a media personality to serve, mentor and inspire others. She loves helping others and constantly finds novel ways to express her passion and drive for the community.
